Hi Henry,
I acknowledge that it's a little strange that the log complain a ".so" file missing but it's there.
That may be caused by an error on file system or file properties(I mean with an executable access), not sure.
As I understand, your real concern is that the view client didn't show remote VM session as you want, and actually, it's not caused by the USB error.
Because our "MKS&VDPService" modules will do their routine business to initialize all plugins, and go on other jobs(like showing remote session) after some plugins failed.
My suggestions:
1. Switch protocols from PCoIP to BLAST or from BLAST to PCoIP, and have a try. Sometimes, they stuck.
2. Make sure you have a suitable DNS, and you can reach the agent machine from client.
3. Install view client with our bundle or tar package as the official document shows. If you DO want to "copy" directly, please use "-a" parameters to preserve the files' properties.
4. Include USB Redirection at the initial setup, and have a try.
If the issue still exists after these actions, please upload log files for troubleshooting if convenient.
Thanks.
Hi,
we are using the uagdeploy script, it is really great and helps us in standardizing the deployment process.
With 3.x some new Attributes have been introduced, we use some of them, it would be great if those could also be implemented in the uagdeploy script.
Currently we are missing the following two attributes:
uagName
adminPasswordExpirationDays
is there any chance to get this implemented in the script?
Thanks and Best Regards
Fredy
Yeah, it's not working. I can open the app, but it won't capture the keyboard or mouse. I've tried it as RDP, Blast, & PCoIP.
If I try the shortcut from my laptop (which I have the client installed on) it gives me 'I can't determine SSO information' (or words to that effect).
A couple of the other guys on my team have done some other digging, and it sounds like (from what they've said) this won't work with smartcard authentication. If that's true, will using VMware's 'TrueSSO' via the identity manager work around this?
Hi Jeff,
Could you reach out to me at tohuynh@vmware.com? I would be interested in the use cases and deployment scenarios that are of interest to you for this.
Thanks
Hello,
Can you give us some more information;
- Which version of Os are you using
- Which version of Horizon
- Which version of Vsphere
- For syncing the user profiles, are you using Roaming profiles, UEM or Persona management?
The first part, what do you mean with "I can not find the same icons of the basic image" normaly, I managed Desktop icons with GPO's or UEM. By default all the icons under the folder c:\users\Default\desktop are displayed on all the users at that machine.
The second part ( black screen ), did you perform an upgrade op the VMware tools without Uninstall VMware View Agent first?

Hello Suman,
Regarding your questions;
1. Does Replica Disk is created for every Desktop deployed in the pOOL ? ( we generally know that replica disk are created one per DS store )
- When you are using local datastores, Horizon creates indeed one replica on each datastore. Multiple desktops used one replica for read actions.
Use the following kb VMware Knowledge Base to review which replica is used for a linked clone
2. Though the replica disk is not visible when we browse in the Datastore using the GUI.
What do you mean with is not visible, when i'm searching on the datastore, there is an folder created with the name of the replica. That folder is filled with two vmdk files.
If i'm misunderstand your questions, please let me know
Greetz
Hello,
Thank you in advance for your answer
-My OS is windows 10 (version 10.0).
-Version HORIZON 7.1
-Version 6.0 version
-For the synchronization of my profiles I use persona.
My problem is that I do not find the same basic image with my clients (missing icons on the desktop, taskbar edit, ..) but the programs intallés on my basic image I find them when I connect with a customer account but not the icons.
Regards.
Hello,
To perform a check, which base image is used, When you selected the desktop pool in the Horizon administrator, you see under the "Vcenter Server" tab, which "parent vm and image" is used.
Regardless if the icons are appearing, can you browse to the file locations of the applications?
yes I use the good basic image, and yes I can browse the application locations for users
This was my issue as well, thanks!
I'm trying to install VMware Horizon client for remote connect on a Nixos machine. Unfortunately the deploy paradigm is slightly different than typical linux distros - is it possible for me to build a version of this client from source or are there only binaries available?
Thanks -
Matty
Hi. Was this ever resolved? I have the same issue regarding the port blocking and it's affecting Instant Clones with VMXNET3 vmnics.
Changing PG security to accept MAC addresses and forged transmits fixes it but i'm concerned about the security risk this introduces.
Tested with the E1000 vmnic and it works perfectly to multiple VLAN's without having to change the PG security.
Cheers

Good news, 7.4.0 was released and lists that it resolves the issue. I'll be upgrading a test environment in the morning to verify.
Release Notes for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.4
Resolved Issues
I'm a desktop engineer and looking into the situation that Horizon view client 4.4 can generate a lot of dump files. I noticed these files are stored in C:\ProgramData\VMware\VDM\Dumps as well in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\VMware\VDM
These files are around 400-600 mb each and one user had about 40 GB of dump files. Another user has about 20 GB of files.
Is there a way to limit the number of files generated? Or otherwise, to disable the creation all together?
See screenshot below of one user with a number of files in a short period of time
Thanks.
Hi wolfganghampp,
how did you manage this? did you find a solution to move persistant disks to a new connection server?

Gerard
It is difficult for my customer to edit registory after login vdi because of their security rule.
Does any body have other idea of workaround?
Ex)
Edit the registory key at master VM before provisioning.
Group Policy or Local Group Policy.
Hi,
I already use VMware Logon Monitor in the past when it was a Fling project.
It work perfectly and I was able to implement the parameters to get all logs copied in a network share.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware Logon Monitor]
"flags"=dword:00000003
"RemoteLogPath"="\\ip-network-share\\logs\\view"
"RemoteLog"="\\ip-network-share\\logs\\view"
Now this functionality is included in View Agent.
I try to set the parameters trough the registry the same way, but it don't work.
I don't find any documentation on this feature.
Somebody can help ?
Thx
are you seeing event id 6005 in your windows application log?
https://windowsexplored.com/2012/11/06/windows-7-black-screen-and-mouse-cursor-after-logon/
on a surface pro 4 with vmware client 4.7
after logging in if the window is maximized, the screenin the client will be black.
Resizing the window causing the virtual machine to readjust as intended and it works fine.
different resizes works, even dragging the app corners to be near full screen works fine.
as soon as the maximize button in the top right of the app is clicked, it goes to a black screen and stays like that till the app is not full screen again.
same user account and pool and everything else but on a surface pro 3 or other computer, works perfectly fine.
might a display driver or a windows setting be the culprit?
the internet connect was also different between tablets, though weird that nearly full screen works fine and full screen doesn't.
