FYI: Those still watching this thread. Thanks to Tony and J_Rodstein I did discover that in my case it seems to matter the bitness level of Lync on the VM. My VM is 64-bit and was running Lync/Office 32-bit on the VDI VM. I'm hoping to discover why this is needed, being most VMs are 64-bit, and MS recommends 32-bit office it seems contradictory that in this case Office/Lync needs to be the bitlevel on the VM.
