but despite this good news, I don't see any way of making it work. When I start up the client, it is obviously trying to do something with multiple monitors as all the other monitors go black and it takes quite a long time before my I can see my desktop on the single monitor... and the other monitors stay black, where as I got the standard sort of textured look on the other monitors before using the 2.0 client... I have tried it at home with just a single external monitor and also at work with 3 external monitors, same behavior as far as I can see. I have tried from the guest OS and it is only seeing one monitor also.
