I typically keep about 3 or 4 snapshots too. The biggest thing for me is to make sure I have a known good snapshot/image to fall back on if someone reports a problem with the new image. You want to find that perfect place that gives you the ability to revert but doesn't force you to manage a ton of different snaps.
