We decided not to backup the data disks. This would be the same as backing up the physical desktop machines which we don't do by policy. Users here are informed not to save any work to their local machines. Having said that, if we did decide to back these up we would most likely install the Tivoli client on the VM itself and set it to backup the D drive or maybe just the profile.
