Often times a similar cause is updating VMware Tools without first removing the View Agent. Tools and Agent both come with their own Video Driver - the View Agent should always be installed last. If your Tools install is a more recent install date than the View Agent:
1. UNinstall View Agent // reboot
2. UNinstall VMware Tools // reboot
3. Install VMware Tools (You may choose custom and choose not to install the sVGA driver) // reboot
4. Install View Agent // reboot

5. Perform 'ipconfig /release' and shutdown VM
6. Take snapshot and recompose Pool
