Hello All!
I wasn't sure where to start as the documentation is very verbose and at times makes your head spin so I thought I would ask in the communities to get a general consensus on the follow situation I'm facing.
I've been charged with setting up a test environment for ESXi, VCenter Server, VSphere Client, VSphere Web client along with Horizon Suite to include VMWare Mirage and ThinApp!.
I've been scouring the documentation online and having a hard time putting it all together as I have a few years experience with VSphere 3.x through 4.1 but no experience other than online training offerings into Horizon, Mirage and ThinkApp.
What I have for hardware and the information I've gathered thus far is as follows:
Servers: 1x Dell T720 with 12GB ram and 6x 300gb drives
1x Dell T720 with 8GB ram and 5x 300gb drives
1x Dell 2950 with 8GB Ram and 2x 146gb drives
I know I will need 1 system to act as the DC so I was thinking of using the 2950 for that role. I know I need to have one server acting as the ESXi server so that will take one of the T710's. I'm looking at obtaining more ram for the T720's but not sure how much I can get at this point, again this is the start of something I'm not sure I can pull off with the hardware I have at my disposal. I know I will need, or think I need from my reading the T720 with 12GB of ram for the Vcenter Server with all the additional components installed. I'm not sure I can run the entire setup including the Horizon View and Mirage on this same server or not and this is where I need someone with more overall design experience and insight into each of these products to know if I can actually pull it off or not.
If there is anyone that can provide me with a solid "Yes" or "No" on this issue I would greatly appreciate the advice.
Thanks for your time and have a wonderful day.
Regards.
