Re: Recommended Requirements

Thank you all for your advice and to answer Andre, I do not have shared storage only local to the actual servers. At this point this will only ever be a test environment and will never go prod. For that matter we will only ever have one or two vm's and a handful of ThinApp's to test with. The entire environment will be very volatile and the main initiative it to get all of this installed on the hardware we have for testing for a handful of engineers.

The scenario is that we have two teams of engineers, one who has a current environment running to show a POC, but our team was left of of that entire process and now we are attempting to play catch up so when we are immersed in the production environment (something we currently don't have access to) POLITICAL RED TAPE!, and something I can't really go into as I'm a new employee on the team who they are looking to for direction and guidance on this. I'm afraid to let them know that this environment is NOT enough, but I want to try and do what I can in setting it up at the very minimum!

AT this point I have a couple options for turning another potential server into a NAS for the file storage but for now, it's going to remain all local, which will be fine from my exp with VSphere/Vcenter/ESXI, not sure about the Horizon or Mirage environments though:(

In a bare minimum setup I feel I can install vcenter servers, SSO, inventory etc on the one T720 with 12gb ram (which is the min requirements for this) but not sure what I need for Horizon and Mirage from a server standpoint. Any suggestions on that part? Do I need to have a Mirage Server, Management server and Web server seperate or can I visualize these on VCenter environment once built? I'm sure I can as I have enough room but feel memory will be my limiting factor as storage space is plentiful.

Suggestions on MIN RAM for the Vcenter server environment and the ESXi server to run the Mirage and Horizon components? Networking should not be an issue with this as we are free to use our test network.

Thanks again for any additional information !!

Regards!
