I'm interested in implementing a VDI project. The system architecture will initially consist of 4 physical host servers (each with one multicore CPU) and a total of 10 guest virtual machines. Over time the number of guest virtual machines will grow to about 40 guest virtual machines. The guest VMs will all be identical (except for virtual machine name and IP address) so I’ll want some software that will simplify the cloning process. My understanding is that I’ll need the vSphere Hypervisor on the 4 physical servers and a version of vCenter Server to help manage the system including cloning guest VMs. What edition of the vSphere software and/or vCenter Server is best suited to this application?
