Same issue here, same beahavior, we have a distributed switch too but I don't see any string like "vim.dvs.DistributedVirtualPort is not available in" describbed on http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2014321
I do have some snapshots, but our client doesn't want to delete them for the moment.
