Your on the same path I would take in checking the firewall first. From the basic standpoint of vSphere networking I can't think of anything that would stop you from pinging something.

Thanks for reply mittim. Tricky things here is there are no issues on physical desktops. Virtual and physical desktops are connected to same switches and going through the same firewalls.
