I have tested in my lab with HA and DRS disabled all the VMs created on different host within the cluster. In your case since you are using local datastore you have to select the option "Seperate Datastore for Replica and OS Disk" during pool creation and select all the datastore for your VDI VM and Replica. This should do the trick !!!
