If the View desktops are operating under a different set of GPOs than the physical desktops I would assume the 'Cached Exchange' mode and 'Download Shared Folders' settings are different between the GPOs.

Windows 10 failing at customizing
Have a View environment on 6.1.1 on ESXi 6.0 and am trying to build a Windows 10 pool to see if performance is decent. It's not that great in a console. I imagine there are no optimization scripts yet for Win 10, but eagerly awaiting such things.
I have the base image built and all looks fine there. When I go to build the pool (floating, linked clones), the machines get built and go through power on and then they hang at customizing. It looks like the machines are blue screening for some reason and I can't figure out how to check that.
Anyone else seen this kind of behavior? Do I need my ESX guys to update the hosts beyond the 6.0 that was release in March? What about vCenter? I don't see any newer View components beyond the 6/4/15 release and that is the release I am running on all View components.
Re: Windows 10 failing at customizing
I may have the answer for the blue screening/freezing on customizing. I had EFI set instead of BIOS. When I switched them, the pool completed.
With that said, I consider the initial question resolved but still wonder about optimization scripts and what not. I have Win 10 on ESXi 6 with flash storage and the performance is kind of lousy.
Re: Windows 10 failing at customizing
Are you using quickprep or sysprep. I can create a pool, all the machines are created but then it looks like sysprep is not run. They all have the same name. They just hang there and never reboot and customize.
Re: Horizon View Agent 6.0.2 Windows 8.1 Desktops - Adjusting screen size scale causes mouse pointer to be stuck in top-left corner
Yes! I could never find an answer or fix for this issue. However, I discovered that if I disconnected after logon, then immediately reconnected, the mouse was no longer stuck. Go figure.
Unfortunately, the same problem exists in Windows 10, and now the workaround doesn't help. Fortunately I found this experimental setting, which only works on the Horizon View 3.4 client:
KEY: HKCU\software\vmware, inc.\vmware vdm\client
Value: DWORD: EnableSessionDPIScaling 1
1 = on
0 = off
It does slightly reduce the resolution, but the scaling is finally correct, and most of all I can read the screen without a magnifying glass.
Re: View event: BROKER_POOL_OVERLOADED
DrOctane - did you ever find a resolution for the issue.
Is it possible to have 2 separate View environments use the same vCenter server?
I want to be able to set up a second View environment with a new Composer, Connection, and Security server. I'm running version 5.2 with plans to upgrade to 6 soon. Ultimately, I want to have two environments running side by side, upgrade one of them, and switch everyone over to it and upgrade the other so I have little to no downtime. Has anyone figured this out or know if it's possible?
Horizon client outside an Active Directory Domain
The use case of a horizon 6.1.1 client on a windows 7 PC outside my Active Directory domain, can the Horizon client feature "share folders" as labeled in the Horizon client be limited to "read only" access ? I want to keep my corporate data within my internal network and not allow it to be copied to a PC running the Horizon client. These PC's will not be a member of my Active Directory domain.
When connected to a Horizon guest and you Drop the "options" menu you can select "Share Folders". Within the "VMware Horizon Client Dialogue box you can click "add" and provide a path to a folder that is Local to the PC running the Horizon client. The Folder will appear in the Horizon guest when using windows file explorer.
Re: Is it possible to have 2 separate View environments use the same vCenter server?
I was able to do this a couple of versions back after setting up a test environment. I am unsure if it would be a supported configuration to have two separate view environments pointed at the same vCenter.
Re: View event: BROKER_POOL_OVERLOADED
There is know issue in 5.x similar with this and has been fixed in 6.0.
Please test using 6.0 to see if it solves yours.
Thanks.

Re: Windows 10 failing at customizing
I'm using Quickprep on my pools. I think another thing that may have been happening to me is our KMS servers were not able to activate Windows 10 and that may have had them hanging on customizing. I haven't seen what you speak of with duplicate names though. That part works correct for me.
Re: Replace default certificate used by HTML Access agent
This setting does not appear to have any impact on how the HTML Access client connects. The web browser still attempts to connect to the VM using an IP address rather than DNS name. I have a ticket open with VMware on this issue, but haven't made any progress.
VMware Horizon View VAAI NFS snapshots for EXISTING desktop pools
The option for VAAI NFS snapshots is for existing desktop pools is greyed out unless the pool is rebuilt. Is there a workaround? For new pools the option is there and no problem. Just want to avoid doing this work if possible.

is Serial Port Redirection available in linux client 3.4.0
@PeterBrown, is Serial Port Redirection available in linux client 3.4.0?
Will it be soon? I would use the communities messaging feature but it appears that I can no longer send messages directly using such a feature.
Re: Available (Task Halted) during Recompose operation
Try un-checking the "stop on first error" option during the recompose. That seemed to help for me.
Re: PCoIP Gateway port 4172 certificate/protocol issues
I have been going through the same thing (with Trustwave) and also found the official kb from vmware that I referenced when filing my dispute...
Re: is Serial Port Redirection available in linux client 3.4.0
hi Eric
not sure what happened to that feature, but at least I'm still here - don't worry!
- sorry, but serial port redirection (and scanner redirection) is only supported with Windows clients today and only in windows guests (ie not supported in the Horizon for Linux desktops). I don't have any knowledge of if or even when it will be coming to other platforms.
cheers

Re: User on Thin client gets "Unknown Username or bad password" intermittent
Hi
We are running several Linux based machines and we are facing the same issue. They are able to login from a Windows machine with VMware View Client but not from a Linux machine.
Bad username or password! We are 100 sure that we are typing in the right one due to we check the password in the username field (cleartext).
Any idea?
Based on this post it seems that view composer is responsible for assigning sessions to VMs, is that true?
Best regards and thanks,
Michael
