Yes, UCK is opening ubuntu iso and let's you configure it with cli interface so it quite powerful, when you done with the cli setup it packs configured ditro into iso file. iso have internet access during configuration, so I think I can manage to configure it your way. I just need more information about setting up system as kiosk with preconfigured connection to vmware. Much appriciate if you provide more information about this step.
Re: Horizon View 3.2.0 Client on Ubuntu 14.10 64 bit
Re: Upgrade to Horizon View 6.0
Thanks. No upgrades to vSphere, at this point. vSphere is already at 5.5 and I have not, as a rule, been updating VMTools when updating the hosts (Update Manager). In the past, I had a bunch of issues with the View Desktops when VM Tools got updated during host patching.
PCoIP error
Hi everybody,
we're having a strange issue.
VmWare View 5.3.3, 2 connection servers + 1 more CS paired with a security gateway, 16 pools and 96 clients (both full and linked).
I have an issue with only 1 user: everytime he tries to connect to his virtual client, he receives (in random order):
- connection timed out
- display protocol is currently not available
- the connection to the remote computer ended
At the fourth try he finally manages to connect.
In the View Manager the VM is always showed as Available.
I tried to analyze the issue and:
- everytime he tries to connect the VM shows a high cpu usage, which goes back to normal values as soon as the connection is successful
- i dig into logs and found:

i take it this is a full clone vm?
so the question would be "whats different for this user?"
networking, vm resources, access device? if he slects rdp or uses blast is it connecting first time?
Security Gateway user login report
I am wanting to have a report emailed weekly that will give me a list of all the users that logged into View 6 via our Security Gateway server instead of internally. We want to be able to keep track of who has logged into the workstations from home/out of the office. Is this possible? Thanks!

After Disabling Automatic Assignment on Pools Error received
Hi all,
I am having an issue where we already have several pools set up and the decision has been made to have a user specific to one VM. So in each pool I have gone to edit and unchecked the box for automatic assigned. I have recomposed the pools but every once and awhile I have a user call in saying that they receive a message saying that they don't have an assigned desktop. I look in Horizon View 5.3.2 and we have manually assigned them a desktop already. So my question is what is causing this issue and has anyone else seen this?
Re: After Disabling Automatic Assignment on Pools Error received
I would like to know did you get a chance to look at the status of the vm for that user who calls whether it goes to available or not

View Horizon 5.3 and having issues with MultiMonitor displays
We are on View Horizon 5.3 and using Linked Clones. When I first setup the template and generated some test machines I was able to using MultiMonitor and the Windows would snap to fit the size of the monitor window instead of spreading across the dual monitors and seeing the VMWare session as 1 large monitor. I am not sure why this changed any suggestions on restoring this functionality for my linked clones would be appreciated. VAscher
Horizon View v6 - Windows 2000 Professional Guest OS
We have a legacy Windows 2000 Professional PC that I'd like to bring into our View environment. Can anyone tell me if Windows 2000 Professional is a supported guest in View?
Thanks.
PJ.
Re: Horizon View v6 - Windows 2000 Professional Guest OS
I do not believe that it is supported.
Re: After Disabling Automatic Assignment on Pools Error received
The VM showed available. The user was trying to log in first thing in the morning so they hadn't just logged off or anything.
Re: Horizon View v6 - Windows 2000 Professional Guest OS
No Agent for pre-XP OS so going to be a no
Re: Persona Maangment
Persona is in all the Horizon Editions as the entry point now is Horizon with View standard that is essentially equivalent to Premier, Advanced adds the desktop tools and Enterprise the Automation.
Re: virtual machine counter for end users. tell me how many vms are being used.
will this method display the stats to the end user?
we use the vmware horizon view client, i want the end user to somehow see a counter that says. 15 virtual machines left in this pool.
Build-to-Lossless Feature
We already have Turn off Build-to-Lossless Feature enabled on our VM's using the adm templates.
We are using P25 zero clients, Does Disable Build to Lossless need to be set to True on the P25's also?
Re: Your desktop has been disconnected
HTML Access is using BSG(Blast Secure gateway), but not PSG(PCOIP Secure gateway).
I have no idea why you can't access your desktop, but you can do a check on your environment by following below steps:
1) If you can connect to your desktop via PCoIP from native client
2) Check BSG setting from Admin UI
3) Check desktop state from Admin UI
4) Disable VDGA on your agent VM
Re: View 5.3.3 HTML access for iOS
Hello, did your problem get resolved? Are you able to connect to your desktop via other browsers(for example: chrome on Windows 8.1)?
Re: View 5.3.3 HTML access for iOS
No, we don't solved this problem. The root of the problem is the certificate an how our environment is deployed (architecture).
For the moment, it's only a test an we will redisign the infrastructure in case of "going-life"/production.
Re: Build-to-Lossless Feature
No that is not needed unless you have specified in the GPO to use the clients settings.
